How HYROX Doubles works

In HYROX Doubles you race as a pair. Both partners complete every run together, and at each workout station you split the work between you however you like — but only one partner works at a time.

That makes the partner choice tactical: a strong runner paired with a strong station athlete can beat two all-rounders. Check the official HYROX rulebook for the current season for weights and division rules.

What to look for in a doubles partner

The best pairs are matched on the runs and complementary on the stations.

  • Similar run pace — you run every kilometre together, so the slower runner sets the pace.
  • Complementary strengths — one of you on sled push and sled pull, the other on wall balls and lunges.
  • Same division goal — Open Doubles, Mixed Doubles or Pro Doubles.
  • Same race and enough time to train together, even remotely.

Mixed Doubles and Pro Doubles

Mixed Doubles pairs one man and one woman. Pro Doubles uses heavier weights for athletes who want a tougher race. In RoxConnect you can set the divisions you're open to, so you only see athletes looking for the same thing.
