How the HYROX Relay works
In the relay, four athletes split the full HYROX course: each teammate completes part of the running and part of the stations, then hands over to the next. Teams can be men, women or mixed.
It's the most social way to race HYROX and a great first step before singles or doubles. Check the official HYROX rulebook for the current season for leg order and team rules.
Putting a team together
A balanced team beats four specialists of the same kind.
- Mix runners and strength athletes so every leg has the right person.
- Agree on the team category (men, women or mixed) early.
- Use one group chat to plan legs, training and race-day logistics.
- Fill a last-minute gap by looking for relay athletes going to the same race.
